I started blogging and writing op-eds in connection with my work with Marcus Noland on North Korea. We launched the Witness to Transformation blog at the Peterson Institute in 2011, which ran through early 2018. The site is searchable and has extensive coverage a variety of issues: the North Korean economy, human rights, refugees, and the diplomacy around the peninsula. I then wrote for Joongang Ilbo and NKNews before joining the board of the Korea Economic Institute and writing for their The Peninsula blog. Most recently, I have taken the position of Research Director for Democracy and Global Governance at the UC Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation (IGCC).
